. During this scholarship he was the first Rheumatology Fellow at the Toronto Mount Sinai Hospital, then worked with Professor Irving H. Fox at the Purine Research Laboratory in the Wellesley Hospital.

Returning to Sydney, he taught and was an examiner in Medicine at the University of Sydney, and Organic Chemistry at the state University of New South Wales, while also working as a consultant Rheumatologist in clinical practice. Over the years his research has included clinical studies, pure biochemical investigation and nuclear bone/joint scanning.

David Married Judy Kertesz of Montreal in 1970, they have 2 sons a daughter, 2 grand daughters and one grandson.

David favorite sports are sailing and skiing, and he likes to relax with classic music or jazz and he reads history, politics sociology, cosmology and comparative religion
